acupuncturist giving treatment to a patient

As every patient is a totally unique person (no one else in the whole world has exactly the same body, or proteins, or symptoms as you), I will use a number of different diagnostic methods to get a complete picture of your health and lifestyle, taking in full account your ‘pre-treatment’ form (which you have sent me before your treatment). I will read your pulses and gently press diagnostic points on your body. Based on this, I will put together your personal treatment plan. I will then painlessly insert some very fine acupuncture needles at various selected acupuncture points based on my diagnosis. For those patients who cannot tolerate needles I use other gentler techniques such as magnets, warmth or acupressure.

  • I already take account of your medical and family health history, from your ‘pre-treatment’ form, which helps me to roughly decide key elements that you need in your treatment.

  • You lie on your back, and to check that my preliminary diagnosis is correct, I press selected acupuncture points on your body to see if they reduce the diagnostic signs found, or your actual symptoms.

  • I then painlessly place some fine wire needles in various points on your body, warming them with a heat lamp and leave you for 20 minutes.

  • I then take the needles out, you turn over onto your back or your side and I put some needles in your back, with a heat lamp on them and leave you for a further 10 minutes

  • I may do some further ‘top-up’ or ‘take-home’ treatments, such as magnets, diode-chains, press-tacks (if I think these would help you!)

  • Then I take the back needles out and you go away feeling relaxed and hopefully much better overall!
